After a long wait since leaving Nxled, Genesis made her debut as a Solar Spiker and carried the team with 10 points in a losing effort–their fifth in six games.

MANILA, Philippines —While only playing limited minutes, Tots Carlos still made a huge impact as Creamline stayed unbeaten in five games in the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference.

But the Cool Smashers star admits that she’s still working her way back to peak form, only playing in the first and third sets and scoring 10 points in Creamline’s 25-19, 25-19, 25-18 win over Capital1 on Tuesday at Philsports Arena. ADVERTISEMENT

“It’s still a work in progress. It’s always like that when there’s an inury. Even our healthy teammates are dealing with minor issues here and there. So, for me, it’s still a work in progress to be able to play without much pain or to play confidently in all my movements,” said Carlos

This was the remark of Kristalina Georgieva, who has just started her second five-year term as managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), on Thursday, before the IMF and the World Bank’s annual gathering of financial leaders in Washington next week.

Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Undersecretary for Integrated Sciences Carlos Primo David during a forum organized by the Chamber of Mines of the Philippines (COMP) said the DENR rolled out a digital application process in three regions of the country.

MANILA, Philippines —Instead of dwelling on the departure of their stars Ces Molina and Ria Meneses, the Cignal HD Spikers is choosing to focus all their energy on their 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference campaign.

The depleted Cignal opened the post-Molina and Meneses with a 25-17, 25-20, 25-19 sweep of Galeries Tower to improve to a 5-1 record on Tuesday at Philsports Arena.

Coach Shaq Delos Santos shared that he prepared for the worst possible scenario in case Molina and Meneses departed the team. The two decided not to renew their contracts that expired at the end of the year and never responded to extension offers that came as early as October.

After suffering its first loss at the end of last year, Cignal returned to its winning ways after adding to the woes of Galeries Tower, 25-17, 25-20, 25-19, in the PVL All-Filipino Conference on Tuesday at PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

Vanie Gandler, who now has a bigger role in the offense with the departure of former team captain Ces Molina, led the way with 17 points from 13 attacks, three aces and a block as the HD Spikers improved to a 5-1 record.

PVL: Without any excess baggage, High Speed Hitters are moving on well

Rald Ricafort–MARLO CUETO/INQUIRER.net

Months after a controversial loss that denied PLDT a chance to make the finals, the High Speed Hitters dealt Akari a bloodbath in their return meeting.

And the key to that as far as the High Speed Hitters were concerned was putting the past behind.

“We didn’t really put a lot of attention to that because that’s excess baggage,” coach Rald Ricafort told the Inquirer in Filipino after never giving the Chargers a chance on Sunday night, 25-22, 25-16, 25-15. “We wouldn’t have been able to focus [if we dwell on the past] so it’s better that we didn’t bring that to this game.”
