The future of the much-anticipated film “My Love Will Make You Disappear,” starring Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino, is reportedly uncertain following rumors of a rift between the actors and the production company.

The speculation intensified after Avelino posted a cryptic tweet saying, “Ma-experience nga na hindi tumapos ng pelikula. [laughing emoji].” His statement comes after the film’s release date was unexpectedly moved from February to April.

The rumors began after a photo from SM Cinemas circulated on social media, which indicates that the film will premiere in April instead of its original release date of Feb. 12.

Santiago gave this assurance Monday, following reports that 888 container vans of rice were discovered sitting in Manila ports for months.

Chiu and Avelino have also reportedly unfollowed the social media account of Star Cinema, which is in charge of the film’s distribution. Three days ago, the production company posted on Instagram a clip of the lead stars doing their photoshoot for the film’s poster.

Given the circumstances, fans took to social media to express their frustration on behalf of Chiu and Avelino, as they are left wondering whether the duo’s next big-screen project will push through as planned.

“Mostly, I’m a silent fan, but what @StarCinema did to Pau and Kim cuts really deep. It’s heartbreaking to see them treated this way, with no communication or explanation about moving the movie’s release date. They’ve worked so hard, and this kind of treatment is far from what they deserve,” wrote one netizen.

“My Love Will Make You Disappear” would mark Chiu and Avelino’s first big-screen collaboration after headlining the Philippine adaptation of the K-drama series “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim” and starring in the TV series “Linlang.”
