MANILA, Philippines — At least 50 people were injured when three public utility buses collided along Edsa (Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue) Balintawak on Friday, according to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

Article continues after this advertisementMMDA said in its report that the incident happened around 12:22 p.m. when a bus driver reportedly fell asleep while driving, thus, hitting the barrier resulting in collision with two other buses. The buses were owned by operators Kellen, Admiral, and Jell.

A representative from the company told the Inquirer that prospective areas include Iloilo, Davao, Cavite, Bulacan, and Metro Manila.
